Colorado Springs Airport
Runway 17L/35R Replacement

Edward-James Surveying, Inc. provided complete construction survey staking for the replacement of Runway 17L/35R at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, one of the two major runways at the airport.  This runway is 13,500 feet long, and was built using a new FAA design that layers 17 inches of concrete on top of 8 inches of asphalt on top of 12 inches of cement-treated base.

This project involved tight schedules, with a lot of work compressed into a very short time frame. In addition, it required conformance with the strict tolerances and regulations of the FAA.
